REIMAGINING THE ISLAND OF SODOR THROUGH A GLOBAL DIGITAL EXPERIENCE  /  2014

We pitched a digital experience engrained in discovery of every kind. Key principle? Design for curiosity. We crafted a colorful and exciting site where, instead of literally representing the Island of Sodor, we dismantled it into smaller tactile experiences that were consistent with how children explore the world: through details, piece by piece, one step at a time. 

Through a variety of content block types, children would learn while playing. Non-verbal cues, like colors, shapes, movements and sounds would engage their senses and entice their curiosity.

Parents would have their own experience with content tailored to them. They’d also have access to their child’s activities and creations through the Activity Board.

This was a pitch so none of the designs, illustrations or copy are final. They were meant to give the client an idea of what we wanted to do with their brand on the digital space.
