Radiator King
ALBUM IDENTITY / 2017
Visual identity for folk/punk American singer/songwriter Radiator King’s album A Hollow Triumph After All.
The visuals needed to reflect the music’s intensity, grittiness and rawness while, at the same time, evoke an emotional vulnerability, clearly expressed in truthful songs based on painful personal stories.
The vintage look speaks to stories of the past, and the photos focus on intimate traces of the artist's character. The stark textures resemble the sound experimentations the artist made in the studio, using a variety of metals as percussion, resulting in the most unexpected sounds. Overall, the identity shows a profound sensibility masked by numerous layers of strength, just like Radiator King’s music.

Here’s a selection of my photos from the photoshoot for the album.
These are some of the early experiments that never made it to the album artwork, but that I really like. They are physical collages of photocopied images of my original photos printed in different papers with different color temperatures, materials and textures. So none of the effects you see are digitally produced.
